The Mandalorian and Grogu Super Bowl Spot

Disney/Lucasfilm have taken a different approach to spreading the word about the upcoming The Mandalorian and Grogu movie. The 30 second television spot broadcast during the Super Bowl is a parody of Budweiser Super Bowl commercials, complete with narration apparently by Sam Elliott and tauntauns filling in for Clydesdale horses. Although the gimmick may work best amongst an audience more familiar with that genre of commercials, this spot will certainly catch the interest of broad pool of viewers… and for many of us, it’s just great to see classic Original Trilogy creatures featured.

The Mandalorian and Grogu opens in theatres on May 21st in New Zealand (placeholder listings are up at cinema chains: e.g., Event Cinemas, Hoyts, Reading Cinemas).
