Did You Know?… Telecom Star Wars Phone Cards (1999)

Did you know… late last century, when you had to purchase physical prepaid cards to top up your mobile phone balance, Telecom NZ ran a major Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace campaign that included phone cards and mobile phone promotional bundles.

There were a total of 11 phone cards to collect, with denominations ranging from $20 to $75. Some cards required purchase of mobile phone packs, and some were only available through specific retailers, including Dick Smith Electronics, Ben Rumble Communications, Noel Leeming, and Shell petrol stations.
