Ben Kenobi Chibi Silver Coin from NZ Mint
Star Wars Chibi coins from NZ Mint have been released on a monthly schedule, and generally sell fairly promptly after their release. Today, a Ben (Obi-Wan) Kenobi Chibi Coin was released at 10:00am. He is the 10th coin in the Star Wars Chibi series (check out our full coverage of this series here). A slight variation exists for this release, with a second version of the coin being available in premium packaging – the first 10% of the mintage (numbers 1-200) will be made available as an authenticated Premium Number Selection and packaged in a secure, click-close acrylic display case.

Officially licensed by Lucasfilm Ltd, this Chibi Coin is made from 1oz of pure silver which has been shaped and coloured to represent Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Chibi art style. He is shown in his traditional Jedi robes while brandishing his Lightsaber.
On the obverse of the coin, the Ian Rank Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II confirms it as legal tender. A specially designed case moulded to the coin’s shape gives additional protection to this precious collectible.
A Certificate of Authenticity is printed on the display-ready box along with more images of Obi-Wan. The coin’s unique number and confirmation of the 2,000 mintage is also displayed on the back. This noble and gifted Jedi hero is bound to be a popular addition to every Star Wars collection!
