Hoyts Star Wars Postcards (Special Edition, 1997)
Although remaining physical specimens of these Star Wars postcards from Hoyts Cinemas are quite rare, many kiwi fans will remember acquiring them in 1997, when that cinema chain was distributing them to attendees of the three Star Wars Special Edition movies that out came that year (one free Star Wars postcard with every large or medium popcorn purchase).
The postcards are approximately 17cm x 12cm, and the rear of the card bears demarcated spaces for a stamp and postal address. The cards are numbered, one through six, with two being associated with each film from the Original Trilogy. The Special Edition logo, and film-specific logos, are on both the front and back of the postcards, and the Hoyts Cinemas logo can be found on the bottom left of the card back. A caption on the rear describes the front image.
