Carrie Tribute in NZ Woman’s Day

The latest issue of the NZ Woman’s Day magazine (Jan 9th 2017) has a great tribute section to Carrie Fisher, but you might miss it on the magazine stand as the coverage is more prominently promoted on the reverse cover, and the tribute article itself occupies a reversed/upside-down section starting at the back of the main magazine. It gives a touching summary of Carrie’s life, successes, and strengths in the face of challenge.

Star Wars creator George Lucas said “She was extremely smart, a talented actress, writer and comiedienne with a very colourful personality that everyone loved. She was our great and powerful princess – feisty, wise, and full of hope in a role that was more difficult than most people might think.”

But the last word goes to her co-star and lover Harrison, who tells, “Carrie was one of a kind, brilliant, original, funny and emotionally fearless. She lived her life bravely. We all miss her.”
