MegoMuseum.com have a transcript of a 1980 magazine article which asks the question “Will the Empire Strike Back?” and takes an analytical look at the toy market in the context of TESB’s theatrical release. It’s a great flashback to the time when action figures and related merchandising were a novelty concept, and information regarding ROTJ was still pretty much non-existent: “Some product pertaining to installment three of the saga, The Jedi’s Revenge, may be introduced in ’82, although the movie is not due to open until ’83.”
