No sign of Star Wars in the top five, but Indy makes it. This is from yesterday's NZ Herald ...

Most polls along those lines usually turn up with Boba Fett, Han Solo or maybe Chewie at the top.

Boba Fett is cool but surely he didn't do enough in the movies to rate as one of the greatest?? Han and Chewie are definatly one of the great partnerships (besides R2 and 3PO of coarse
)

Boba Fett was originally just a throw away part, but the fans made such a fuss after seeing him in Episode V and wanting to know more that Hasbro released the original figure, George Lucas re-used him in Episode VI and in the Prequel Trilogy.
A similar thing happened with Aurra Sing in Episode I, but she never really took off - she was replaced in Episode II by Zam Wessel, but has made a re-appearance in the Clone Wars TV show "looking after" young Boba Fett.

It probably killed off the careers (and rightfully so) of Mark Hamill's hairstylist and makeup artist, but probably launched the careers of many Southern California coke dealers who would later sell to Carrie Fisher.
