Snibo's Fleet: X-Wing

Post by Snibo1 »

Hi all,

Big SW Fanboy since 1977. Have been making models for years but decided to go the extra step every now and then to do something a bit different by scrath building my own SW models

I did a post yesterday on the Model X Thread as I found my scratch built Snow Speeder on there.Have had a request for more photos on the X-Wing I am working on. I will bring it up to Model X next year in Auckland for those who are around and want to have a closer look.

Will get some more photos of the Snow Speeder and post those. Am also working on the Shuttle Tyridium at the moment which will be lit up.

It is based on the old MPC Kit (which has been re-released so many times over the years) which I scaled up 2 times the orignal size - it's aroung 400mm long. Some of the photos are WIP with the last 3 being the finished product.

The Diorama is RED 4 about 6 months BBY on Yavin getting a refit.

Cheers Snibo1

This is great. I love both the detail in the execution, and the behind-the-action storytelling aspect of the concept.

Not this one! - I thought about it when I was nearly done with the build but it was too far along to do it......

BUT - I am lighting up the Tydirium I am building at the moment. It will have flashing Nav lights, the engine will be lit up. I will do LED / fibre optics in the cockpit and lights inside at the top of the ramp.
I also have a Viper Prode droid on the drawing board which will have lights and Servos - I may have it hovering above the open pod and crater on Hoth and have a soft "glow" underneath - sort of set the mood... you know.... "Hey just landed on this block of ice - time to go Rebel Scum Hunting"

Hi All,

just to let you know I entered my X wing in the Waikato Scale Model Clubs competition at "Armistice in Cambridge" on the week end. The section was Si-Fi Fact or Fiction - came first prize! and a very well dome STAP came second and Iron Man version VI came third!!!

2 out of 3 for SW ain't too bad! (considering there were only 2 SW entries - we cleaned up!)
Cheers
