blasters needed.

Post by vctrsone »

heyas i need to get my hands on some e11 blaster rifles.

if they have working sound even better.

the plan is to be able to make fully lit and sound effects blasters. From a toy to a full on troop-able electronic blaster prop with full on lighting, sound effects and the ability to recharge it with out removing anything.

what i am going to is strip them, replace the speaker and build a speaker box,set up a new led lighting system, replace the battery box with a recharge-able battery pack and recharge port. after the internals are done id need to source a resin kit for it and give her a paint job of course.

I cant find anywhere to buy a hasbro e11 over here or even dc15 clone blasters..seems they stopped sending em to nz/aus early last year.

thought Id ask in here incase someones got some old hasbro's gathering dust.

got f all money as usual so cheaper the better.

Also maybe no one has any spare e11..but you might have a decent version of an e11 that I could vacuum get formed?

this will be the build up to me making a blaster using ervs "blaster core" from plector labs...But first I needa get a few blaster upgrades under my belt and some coin in the purse.

hey dude if you've got time but not much money I'd recommend trying to build an e-11 from scratch. I think 40mm pvc would be a good start. There's a link somewhere about scratch built blasters.

Even if you can't get all the small details sorted it would be enough of a frame to install lights and sound and allow you to get your head around what was involved
hope that helps :)

That would be my recommendation too...PVC pipe gives plenty of room to house electronics. Even if you chose to vac-form the final piece, something built from PVC pipe would be a good form to work over, adding the smaller details separately.

Here's a commonly referenced instruction thread, with printable templates for barrel details etc http://www.imperial-fleet.com/BBC/commu ... hp?f=4&t=2

If you're still looking for a Hasbro blaster, here's a source (I've dealt with them for other products, and they are pretty reliable) - http://trooperbay.com/star-wars-stormtrooper-blaster/

Either way, it sounds like a cool project, and I look forward to seeing where you go with it. I've still got the Hasbro sound & light fx systems in my E-11s, but it would be neat to see an amped up version. :)
