The Beach Haven Primary School (Auckland) has entered the Hitachi Song competition and needs everyone and anyone to just watch their 43sec YouTube clip - the more views they get, the higher up the list they go and the more money they can win.
I'm not sure if on computer watching the clip multiple times counts or not, but the competition closes on Friday 29, April, 2010.
Thanks.
[Matt, feel free to delete this if it's too "spam-like".]
Thanks. It looks like a couple of people are massively cheating / spamming everywhere though (it would be easy to do by posting the link saying it's a nude clip of some celebrity or some up-coing device like the iPhone 5) - two videos added about a week later already have at least three to four times as many views as all the other entries.
They somehow managed to get themselves on the front page of the local freebie newspaper this week (North Shore Times, Tuesday, 26 April) which might gain them a few more views.
At the moment they're in eighth place with just over 6,000 views, but the cheaters at the top have over 25,000 and the top spot has an obviously cheated 364,000 ... yes, over three-hundred-thousand views!?!
The competition closed on Friday, so you don't need to watch the video now. Thank you to those who helped.
By the look of it Beach Haven Primary School were in 7th place with 6,600 views which means they'll get $200.
The cheaters at the top had over 191,000 views! If they aren't disqualified, they'll "win" $10,000. The next three places had between 14,000 views and 29,000 views.
