William ... Shatner coming ... to ... New Zealand

Post by Buzz Bumble »

Old Capt Pause-alot is doing a show in Aucland in April. From yesterday's Weekend Herald (12 February, 2011) ...
Shatner charting course for NZ
The man who became a household name when he starred in "Star Trek" and "Boston Legal" is coming to Auckland for one show in which he will tell his life story. William Shatner (Captain James T. Kirk) will beam down to the Civic Theatre in April.
"Tell his life story"?!?! Good grief, he could be five years old and it would still take him 20 days to get through such a speech. ;)

I wonder if he'll be doing some of those 'excellent' songs he did on that TV special in the 70's haha

He's got a new album coming out, apparently (coinciding with a new book too).

We met Shatner (and Leonard Nimoy) at the DragonCon convention back in 2009 and the hotels had a convention TV channel that played that remixed music vid amongst others. </name dropping>

Bill Shatner is pretty entertaining in person...we're considering going to his NZ appearance, as I'm confident it will be a great show.

From what I've seen on TV and interviews in magazines William Shatner does look like a interesting guy and out of all the Star Trek cast (to be honest though I was never really a fan) he is definatly the one I'll like to meet.....least of all would be George Takei he sort of freaks me out haha.

I wouldn't bother. The cheapest tickets are $120 each, and according to the website William Shatner will only be having a "relaxing chat" with the wannabe-idiot Mike Hosking ... the only way it could be worse if it was one of the true idiots Paul Holmes or Paul Henry. :(
