Post by Reverend Strone »

Eek, Christchurch has had one heck of a shaking this morning. :( I hope our Churcher members are all alright and haven't been injured or lost homes and property. All our hopes guys.

I'm still shocked that nobody was killed! It's truly amazing.

My buddy is getting a new swimming pool out of it; otherwise, his place was untouched.

My SW lead hand-painted figurine collection that came out a few years ago took a large fall from the quake, so most now have bent lightsabers, guns and broken hands, etc. Apart from them, that's the only SW items i have which have been effected, all can be fixed though! I am very lucky, we have 3 properties and none have sustained any structural damage, though my parants house in Kaiapoi looks to be a right off! Been a busy week as i work for the Council, life is getting back to normal for most of us lucky ones now :(

I hate to have to resurrect this thread, but I can only imagine the effects of the latest quakes on the Chch members. Given the scope of the initial damage and unfolding crisis - our thoughts are with everyone in the region, now and over the coming weeks.

We've gotten word from most of the Christchurch 501st'ers. They all seem to be ok, apart from property damage.

They seem to be the lucky ones! Lots of Horror Stories coming out of the city.

Yeah. An unbelievably bad day for our Christchurch Whanau!
My wife has quite a few family members there that have come through physically safe so far, so we're very thankful for that.

But our thoughts and prayers are going out to all those affected.

I get the impression that even if not directly affected, those in the region are going to experience an unenviable degree of turmoil.

It's such a pity, especially after such a short time passing from the last quake, I hope everyone has had a chance to get emergency gear ready, if not then this is a good reminder for all NZder's.
Try to stay safe down there, safety first and take care.
Doomsday and Armageddon got together and had a baby and man is it ugly.

Those poor folks. My heart goes out to all our southern countrymen and women caught up in this catastrophe.
