Re: Star Wars Hot Wheels
Yoda car revealed. Two more in the set to be shown, apparently.

I must confess, I am softening a bit - that Yoda car is kinda cute. But, also completely unnecessary, so my resolve to avoid this line stands firm for now.

That Yoda car looks familiar for some reason ... could be the ears resemebling a "jack rabbit" car I've seen somewhere before. That one would be fairly easy to beuild in real life using a Fiat 500 base car, of course those ears may not be raod legal.

Re: Star Wars Hot Wheels
Three more vehicles have been revealed ...
Tusken Raider car

Rebel Pilot car

The third is a first silly exclusive for Target in America - a 5-pack of vehicles which includes an exclusive Stormtrooper car. No doubt it will again mean eBay scalper fodder for those, especially outside America, trying to collect these.

I know a guy who'll be rapt to see those... if he didn't see 'em in person, that is?

Re: Star Wars Hot Wheels
He did.
I have to say, however, I wasn't all that impressed. They are about Titanium-sized (roughly the same as Command's new starships) but the paint aps were sparse and the tooling wasn't as sharp as the (admittedly unpainted) Command ships of the same class. Not pictured in the gallery, but present in the display, were Mon Calamari starships that just looked like grey gerkins with ache-like brown paint blobs randomly scattered across them. If they improve their paint and tooling sharpness or do some new ships in future to a higher standard I may pick up the odd mini or two, but overall I was a bit deflated by this line when I saw them at the show.

Dang. I'm sorry to hear that. You know your minis Strone, so that opinion carries a lot of weight with me. After the fantastic detailing on the WotC and Fantasy Flight miniatures, Hot Wheels is going to have a high bar to reach to keep collectors interested.Reverend Strone wrote:I have to say, however, I wasn't all that impressed.
