Respectfully, I disagree Buzz. It's all about outlook. You can't blame publishers for trying to sell books while there's a window of anticipation for new media. When a new edition with additional material has appeared in the past I have simply sold my older versions of these kinds of books and put those funds towards subsidising my purchase of the new volume - no redundancy on the shelf and someone else gets to enjoy my old book for less than regular retail price. Win - win, wouldn't you say?

Re: 'Star Wars Rebels' animated series
I've found that later editions tend to cover subsequent seasons, with not much overlap except for main characters - which (in the case of Sabine) often have confirmed costume/look changes, so I always look forward to second issues to follow along with the seasons and new characters/locations etc.
In other news, some sites are reporting a possible new character preview - possible spoilers at the link -

I "blame" them for greedily re-selling you the same thing you've already bought by tacking in a few extra pages / articles. The Cross-section books, for example. For something like Rebels it would be better to release separate "Season" books OR wait until the show is over and release a "Full Series" book ... or even do as the Fact Files did and release new pages you can slot into a ring binder where appropriate.Reverend Strone wrote:Respectfully, I disagree Buzz. It's not just the book pulishers either. The DVD publishers also often do the same thing, sometimes even worse by having different re-issues having different Bonus content. Then of course there's good ol' Hasbro re-issuing and repackaging / repainting existing figures, but at least those are usually easier to avoid (although somethimes those too come with different extras).

A video review of the Visual Guide book. Minor spoilers only (mention of a few locations and characters that make appearances, etc.)

So, Jason Isaacs (aka Lucius Malfoy) was confirmed as the voice of The Inquisitor a couple of days ago. I think he is a superb choice. The official vid associated with the announcement is quite cool.

That timeline at 1:31 is particularly interesting. The Battle of Naboo is listed as having occurred in "3245 LY". Is this a dating convention I'm unfamiliar with? Or are we looking at a new system that'll replace the old BBY/ABY dates?MattG wrote:A video review of the Visual Guide book. I noticed that too. The page that that timeline is on seems to indicate that the "L" stands for Lothal (the planet)...this may be a regional and/or Rebels-specific notation, depending on the significance of Lothal to the wider continuity.Archon Revuge wrote:That timeline at 1:31 is particularly interesting. I've ordered the book, but don't have it in hand yet...I'm quite keen to read that timeline explanation in full when I do.
