Re: Master Tholme
Some of those comic packs do seem to be way overpriced on the secondary market. Shame...I like some of the expanded universe figs that came out with them (and the comics they originated in).

Re: Master Tholme
Indeed they are some really good figures but hasbro just don't let us have enough of them.
I don't know why hasbro allows a secondary market, print another wave of the figures that are hard to find, list them for $5 more on their site = problem fixed.
Hopefully now they are releasing 2 per box we'll have less problems, But if they were smart "the most wanted" line for really sought after figures done like black series on EU and other cool characters could sell for double retail for stuff like Exar kun and Revan.

On many levels I agree...it does seem unusual to go through the sculpting, tooling, manufacturing etc for a figure that's so rare it's pulling in $100s of dollars on eBay.Dawfydd wrote:...

Re: Master Tholme
And if they asked the fans "hey if we made a fan wave, which figures from EU would you like" they could get a pretty good poll stat on figures
Release the numbers they got on the poll maybe + 10% if the wave need more, pump another bunch out.
and if they did the first lot of "you asked and we gave you" it'd spread and soon every collector would vote and they'd have numbers from collectors then + 10% and they can sell fan service figures for more than normal wave releases and if they need more just pop a couple into a normal price wave later down the road.
I just don't get Hasbro's model for producing figures at all they print almost unwanted figures in terms of the ugly as many as the figures every guy wants 10+ of.
and $200 for Tholme is just blowing my mind!

Re: Master Tholme
It's definitely a perennial problem. On one hand they do have a challenge in selecting figures to keep kids, the general market, and collectors all happy in different proportions, but when specific figures are flipped for 10-20x their RRP, something went wrong in the initial planning.

Re: Master Tholme
Indeed, i hope they learn fan feedback is their best resource when it comes to knowing which figures to make.
If us fans had input one might think we could try to ruin them, but it isn't in anyones best interest to have them go out of business or print stupid items, I know there are guys out there who'd love to give advise on what figures to make and *how* to make them.
and if we did a couple of rounds of comments and polls on figures they could pick some guys to weed through the results and pitch them a reason why X/X and X figure need to be made.
It would be wonderful to see battle packs of figures made, maybe more than 2 faces for rebel soldiers!
It would be equally great to see weapon packs *of* weapons and not the piss poor item packs of episode 1, Things like randomly coloured lightsabers blue/green/purple/yellow/red in single and double bladed hilts, then include like a random colour of black white or silver gold? in the pack, in both single and double have a couple of variants, could throw in a couple of Vibroswords from Kotor.
Rifle designs would be lovely too!
And i'm not sure why stands aren't mandatory requirements as half figures released tend not to stand up correctly.
But the solution to the problems hasbro have with what to market and what we want to buy could easily be solved by talking to fans, when the first starwars toys came out they were a new market their parents never had anything like that, but now we have parents who collected who watch their kids collect and in some cases enable them! haha
So we have parents who know what figures kids are after and what they want from those toys compared to what they want as an adult collector.
