Toltoys

Post by Captainsolo1978 »

Hi you are probably all aware how rare the domestic NZ Toltoys branded vintage carded figures are.

Have any ever come up for sale on this forum?

Even the backing cards alone are going for silly money.

I understand Kenner cards were also available in NZ. Were these more widespread?

I'm personally a big fan and collector of NZ Toltoys-branded Star Wars products.

Toltoys cards only made up a very small subset of cards/carded figures in NZ, mainly from the older "Star Wars" logo 12-back releases (and the famous 48-back ESB version, which only mentioned Toltoys on the rear of the card). Most vintage figures sold locally were just regular Kenner-branded versions.

I don't believe any Toltoys cards/carded figures have actually changed hands directly on these forums. They show up on TradeMe very occasionally, but unfortunately are often snapped up for selling at additional profit overseas via eBay.

Thanks Matt. I have seen an ESB Toltoys Yoda cardback with a Toltoys logo- it may be Auzzie.

I also understand the 21 backs produced by Toltoys had unique bubbles- ie oversized!
