Kasdan = awesome.
Here's hoping he still has the magic touch after all these years.
And speaking of Kasdan, where's my Kazdan Paratus action figure Hasbro?

Sounds like a job a good customiser could handle. I've seen some nice reference art out thereReverend Strone wrote:...And speaking of Kasdan, where's my Kazdan Paratus action figure Hasbro?![]()

Man, my mind is still boggling. Just a few weeks ago, there we were, happily cruising along reading a few comics and novels, and buying the occasional (depending on your definition of "occasional") action figure, and now BAM! Episode VII through IX...Carrie, Harrison, and Mark, all candidates...screenwriter from ESB/ROTJ likely on board...

Isn't it? Matt is so right. Awesome time to be A SW fan. It's like when the prequels were announced all over again.Harvey Mushman wrote:It's official: Larry's writing 'em.

Hee hee, thanks man. Yeah, I may do that one in time. I love the concept of the character.MattG wrote:Sounds like a job a good customiser could handle. I've seen some nice reference art out there(source).

Yep know exactly what you mean. On the balance of things I think its great disney has bought lucasfilm, there's potential risk to the material but it seems like they are taking a well thought out approach. I still reckon the new Tron was a really good film which give me hope!MattG wrote:Man, my mind is still boggling. Insert appropriate Eeyore quote - maybe something like "calm before the storm" or "every silver lining has a cloud" or "if it looks too good...".MattG wrote:Man, my mind is still boggling. Everyone was jumping up and down with over-hyped excitement when Episode I was announced, then after they saw it many were jumping up and down in annoyance instead ... mainly because they had set their expectations FAR too high and / or because they had grown up and stupidly expected the movies to have grown up as well (Star Wars is made for older kids).

Sure, it's always going to be a hard act to follow, but I believe that an objective perspective can frame this in a favourable light.Buzz Bumble wrote:...

I choose to be positive

And do so tempered by the Episode I experience (which I'm not going to bash...I saw it probably about 10 times on the big screen in 1999), but also taking into account the specific factors I mentioned, such as the inclusion of OT-alumni participants and award-winning writers.

Eeyore! ha ha that's good I like that
I think the films will be their own separate thing, connected and comparable to the other 2 trilogies but (hopefully) different again. As much as I am looking forward to seeing the OT cast back on the big screen I hope they take it somewhere we haven't even thought of yet. And yes I'm sure there'll be good bits and bad.
EP 1 had one of the best lightsabre duels of all the 6 films IMO. So you might also say Eeyore I mean Buzz that every cloud has a silver lining
Hey think of all the awesome merch and props and armour that is going to be made
