Original Trilogy on public TV in NZ

What's the earliest anyone can remember seeing a Star Wars film on public TV (TVNZ/TV3) in New Zealand?

I recently picked up some old TVNZ press photographs, and it sparked my curiosity on this topic. I can remember seeing "The Making of Star Wars" in 1978 or so (loved it!), and "The Holiday Special" around the same time. I have evidence of ANH and ESB screening in the 1995-1997 timeframe, but am not sure when it may have first done so.

This press photo and copy describes a double-feature screening on an Easter weekend (must have been 1995, '96 or '97, as that is when TV2 used that particular logo).

Wow. That's a real blast from the past. That double-feature was actually the first time I ever saw any of the Star Wars films. I can confirm that it was Easter weekend in 1996. I actually still have that particular broadcast on VHS!
