RIP: Doctor Who's Sarah Jane Smith

It's being reported on lots of websites that British actress Elisabeth Sladen has died this week from cancer. She played Sarah Jane Smith alongside three different Doctor Who actors (Jon Pertwee, Tom Baker and David Tennant), plus appeared in her own younger-targetted spin-off show The Sarah Jane Adventures - season five of the show had been mostly filmed and will be broadcast in the UK later this year (the show plays here on one of the Sky TV kids' channels). 
Also another Smith who died this week was New Zealand actress (or "over-actress" since it was Gloss - the worst show on TV before Shortland Street
) and TV / radio personality Kerry Smith who died from melanoma cancer.
