That's great to see Chewy make an apperance but maybe the title should be changed from ....A long time ago in a galaxy far,far away to ....A long time ago in a galaxy so, so tiny that the same people meet over and over again

but I supose it's not as bad as Anakin making 3PO haha I still can't quite accept that??!!

It could have been worse ... one of the original (rumoured) ideas for the Prequel Trilogy was to have a young Han Solo living with the wookiees.

That would have been the hair that broke the camels back for me aye
After watching Episodes I-III and the Clone Wars movie/TV series I honestly thought the line Obi-Wan says in ANH..."I don't remember ever owning a Droid"...would have been the first one they would have changed when they tweaked the original trilogy. I know Ben never actually owed 3PO and R2 but for him not to remember them after he saves Luke from the Tusken Raiders has always bothered me...even though I know it shouldn't haha

Obi-wan has a habit of "remembering" what he wants to and saying things "from a certain point of view".
Technically, as far as we've seen, he himself has never owned any droid - they belong to Anakin, Padme, the Jedi Order, etc. Droids are also everywhere and seen (or not even noticed most of the time) as simply unimportant tools by most people. Obi-Wan often says things like "it's only a droid".

I understand that but R2 and 3PO didn't just do little chores around Obi-Wan in Episode I for example he is the only R2 unit that can save their ship and their lives and surely he would have to remember Anakin building 3PO??? I'm no Jedi but I can remember every car my family has ever owned haha
I realise he states a few times "that it's only a droid" but it's just a lot of things, very major things for him to forget

......the only way I can see them trying to explain it would be for the Empire to invent some type of way to do a 'Jedi mind erase' or something along those lines, I would suggest it to George but for some reason he doesn't seem to be keen on taking my calls hahaha

But R2-D2 and C-3PO are just two droids out of millions of similar droids, plus C-3PO has changed (firstly "naked", then gold coverings, then some silver coverings.
Like most people in the Star Wars universe, Obi-Wan simply has no interest in droids other than as a tool to perform a job. The only time they even see droids is when they want something done or when the droid is malfunctioning. Anakin has an interest in how things work and is always tinkering with droids, speeders, fighters, etc. to improve them. Luke had a similar interest (racing his Skyhopper around Beggar's Canyon) as does George Lucas (with 19050s hot rods).
You might remember every car, computer, video recorder, etc. your family has had, but would you actually recognise the exact one if you ran across it 20 years later??

If my old video recorder saved me from Buzz Droids or fixed the Hyper-Drive on our old Holden Kingswood then yes I would remember him and be able to pick him out 20 years later haha
Both of the Droids, especially R2, went above and beyond the 'normal' functions of any other droid in the SW Universe so you would think that Ben must have noticed them...especially with Qui-Gon Jinn teaching him to always be mindful of his surrondings.
Also their association must have lasted more than 15 years (Episodes I, II, III, and the Clone Wars) and with nothing to do on Tatooine except reflect on his life I just find it too hard to believe Ben could see R2 and 3PO as 'just droids'...and another question I have is why would Yoda not tell Luke he knew R2 when the first met on Dagobah, surely the great Jedi Master wouldn't forget some one as important to the Rebels cause as R2...I think they're forgetting him on purpose and the Jedi are actually closet 'Droid-ists'???
