Star Wars in other movies
We just watched 'The Other Guys' with Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg and found the SW reference after the building blows up was real funny (it goes something like this)....
Allen Gamble: "Remember Star Wars when the Millennium Falcon is flying away from the Death Star and it explodes... That was bullshit!!"
Terry Hoitz: "Don't you ever bad mouth Star Wars....that was all accurate!"
....and it got me wondering what other SW quotes are in non-SW movies???

Star Wars appears in all sorts of places. Probably the best known are:

- A child dressed as Yoda during the Halloween street scenes in ET - the Extraterrestrial (and the reverse with ETs appearing in the Prequel Trilogy's Senate scene).
- A few references / Easter Eggs in the Indiana Jones movies, including "Club Obi Wan" and a carving of the droids.
- The infamous Friends gold bikini episode.
- Various references in That 70s Show
- The discussion about Death STar workers in the movie Clerks

Re: Star Wars in other movies
I was just looking for something on my bookshelves when I found a little book I'd forgotten about ...
A special issue of the UK magazine SFX from 2005 came with a free 150-page book called Attack of the Quotes which contains quotes from and about various Lucasfilm movies.
Chapter 9 is "Cultural References - Lucasfilm in popular culture" (That's all Lucasfilm, not just Star Wars) with quotes from other movies, shows, and music. It's by no means an exhaustive list (and would need updating), but the section contains quotes / references with Star Wars links from:
Music (Maybe guessing the song should be part of the quiz

Probably not, althought other shows do of course often get quoted. You get a few from Star Trek, but also other old shows like The A-Team, etc.

Mate the new A-Team movie to me was a bit average but at least it was better than GI-Joe....so far the movie remakes from 80's shows hasn't been to great so I'm a bit worried about the Masters of the Universe movie they have plannedBuzz Bumble wrote:Probably not, althought other shows do of course often get quoted. SW has been quoted/referenced in so many times George Lucas has to be so stoked with it haha

I liked it, The fight between the Trekies was great and the cameos through it were cool as well....Oh and Kristen Bell in the Leia Slave outfit wasn't bad hahahaArchon Revuge wrote:Anyone have any thoughts on Fanboys?

Pretty much all the silly "remakes" / "reboots" / "reimaginings" coming out of the current mostly lazy and talentless generation in Hollyweird are barely recognisable garbage, and there's lots more of it being worked on and planned yet.AaronDB94 wrote:Mate the new A-Team movie to me was a bit average but at least it was better than GI-Joe....so far the movie remakes from 80's shows hasn't been to great so I'm a bit worried about the Masters of the Universe movie they have planned![]()

Same here. I thought it was nice to see an homage with some real heart.AaronDB94 wrote:I liked it, The fight between the Trekies was great and the cameos through it were cool as well....Oh and Kristen Bell in the Leia Slave outfit wasn't bad hahahaArchon Revuge wrote:Anyone have any thoughts on Fanboys?
