1979 Kidco mini Silver Warrior (C3PO bootleg?)

I was just rummaging around my old things and found my Kidco mini Silver Warrior. Hes missing his pack and a bit beat up but Ive always thought he was a '3PO bootleg just from his styling, gold colour, and year of release (1979)
Looking on the internet I see it came in two other colours, black and silver, so is it just coincidence that there are three droids in a New Hope the same colours?
I was just wondering if anyone else had one if these and thought they were also Star Wars bootlegs or not?
