Quite a different cast from Ep VII, in that all of the cast have a pedigree, and 2 Oscars (no Isaac) . No real first timers (not that there's anything wrong with that).

Cast photo looks really dark. I'm quite excited about this.

This is looking very cool. Some interesting names in the cast list.

The picture has a few interestingly familiar elements (that's a standard Rebel Alliance Hoth/Endor backpack painted black in there).

I don't want to jump to any conclusions, but there are a lot of very specific similarities in particular aspects of his haircut and facial hair - none of which relate to how Diego usually styles his hair, meaning intentional decisions have been made about his R1 look. The rest of the discussion in that Twitter thread is quite interesting, including the information from the X-Wing: Offical Strategy Guide book.

Fascinating tonal vibe coming off this picture. It looks like quite a cool new direction for SW - grittier at least, plus, no Jedi. Will it work and still feel like the Wars? I guess we'll find out. I'm very happy to give it a go and can vouch for Gareth Edwards' love for the property, having met him and talked SW with him. As the first standalone movie out of the gate, this should be intriguing in what it sets up for future films. I think it's very possible they could be even more varied in tone and treatment than the various Marvel Cinematic Universe films.

Now, it's known as Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which, I think, makes it sound a little less dry than Anthology title treatment.

I like the change - though I've seen some wondering if the change was similar to the Harry Potter philosopher/sorcerer title change, in that it's easier to the average (US) movie goer to understand - in any case, it certainly seems easier to market.
