I wonder if that'll be a new sculpt or just a repack of the McQuarrie Concept Boba Fett?

I don't think the figure is going to be directly based on a McQuarrie sketch...it's a figure of the prototype armour which was basically the same as the final version but in white.

The story of that particular armour (sometimes referred to as the 'Super Trooper' armour) is here: http://www.starwars.com/video/view/000743.html

Thanks Matt I really enjoyed that video....can't wait to see the actual figure I'm thinking it's going to be a must buy.

It will be interesting to see what the vintage packaging looks like....hopefully not just the same as last years vintage Boba.

There's something very cool about a white Boba Fett. Very clean looking.

P.S I miss his original voice (Jason Wingreen)

Thanks alot George. :(

I think you're right about the white Boba, I'm glad they used him as a Bounty Hunter and not as a 'Super Trooper'....don't get me started on them changing the voices in the originals haha

From today's StarWars.com RSS feed ...
Star Wars Toys from Hasbro for 2011
Hasbro revealed their new lines of Star Wars and Clone Wars figures, vehicles and more today at the New York Toy Fair!

There was also an article in the NZ Herald a few days ago about Hasbro's profits dropping 16%. No mention of Star Wars in that, just that Hasbro was excited about the new Transformers movie toys.

Interesting, whereas in the US they had a strong year. Star Wars was their number 1 boy's brand and had it's biggest 12 months ever, not including movie release years.

There's a price increase coming though, at least at Hasbro's end. It'll be interesting to see what gets passed on to us by the local retailers. Many already charge what I consider to be the maximum for a toy of these types. I don't know about everyone else but I find it hard to suck up purchases at retail locally unless they're discounted.

But back on topic, I am loving that new Boba Fett idea. I'll have to get that one. I'm a sucker for concept art figures, and this one kinda qualifies by my reckoning.

Surely if the SW live action series goes ahead Hasbro will see another increase in the SW range. I'm thinking it will create a lot more interest in SW figures seeing as a new episode will be on TV each week.

The article was about Hasbro US / worldwide and their 16% drop in profits. Mind you, trying to read the article was an exercise in confusion and frustration thanks to the usual spouting of meaningless figures. :)

If being the operative word. There's still no real sign of that series starting any time soon. Last I read they were still writing scripts, so I doubt we'll see any episode on TV this year.

The Clone Wars animated show hasn't created a huge amount of interest ... here in New Zealand that's thanks to nobody (except Sky) playing the second season yet.
