Small update I got the prototype machined barrel back from the engineers. Next step is to check all the dimensions and test fit the resin pieces.

A few pics up on my facebook page:

okeeeeey so after a wee bit of an absence I am pleased to finally be able to post a pic of the prototype kitset of my e-11. For those of you who have been waiting for this to be ready.......nearly there!!

I've got a few adjustments to make here and there but overall the kit is looking really good. I'm going to do a sterling build and the an e-11 conversion and paint job on the prototype to work out the best way to assemble it.

ok here's the pic

So it's a good representation of what a final kit will look like. Everything will be cast in black resin and will come with aluminium to make the rail and the counter holder. Here's some notes on the kit:

Parts are cast of a real NZ army sterling
The barrel is milled aluminium and an excellent fit for the parts
The counter is scratch built and has been kindly donated to this project by Snibo. The back plate of the counter is scratch built by me.
Power Cylinders are a simplified version of the piece and scratch built by me
The scope is an M40 version and was donated by Eng76 for the project
The t track are scratch built by me
I will be changing the end cap mold from a two piece to a single mold because casting that spacer ring is a PITA.
I'll be changing the scope casting to a two piece in order to get a better cast of the front of the piece and less bubbles
The pic of the kit is missing the end cap lock but it will be included
I am not including a spring at this stage.

Ok that's it for now. I'll be offering this as a kit and a full build. I'm just sorting out price now
Cheers
Oota

Looks great!

Didn't realise you would use an aluminium barrel.

Hoping the price won't break the bank for a kit ;)

Thanks man yeah I did the same with my dlt19. It's a nice way to go only challenge to make sure everything is fixed strongly to the barrel.

Price I will try and be as 'competitive' as I can be. There's an economy of scale to these things but OGA buyers will definitely be getting a discount :woot:

Thanks Kmannzl.

Ok here's a few quick pics I took of the build up. I've gone for a fair bit of weathering for the this one as it'll be my personal e-11 and I like a bit of weathering on things. I'll take pics of a cleaner e-11 at some stage :)

so the pics are of the sterling and then with the e-11 add ons. I press fit the t track and rail is held on by one screw so it's surprisingly easy to convert back and forward

Overall I'm very happy with how it's come out. I wanted to run round and blast various members of my family once I'd got it in paint and that's always a good sign with a prop when you want to pick it up and use it.

I'm still playing around with paint finishes so some of the paint on the gun is not quite where I want it but that's the joys of prototypes I guess

ok less talk more pics now
