It was also good to catchup with people I’ve known for ages, like Rob, Matt and Kristy (and Juliet, who is now almost as tall as Matt); get to know Freddy, Cameron, Kerry and Mary (the soon to be Mr. and Mrs. Smith) and take in Celebration with some of my best friends (Phil, Toots and Robert).
While I’ve been on a few international Star Wars adventures, this was my first Celebration, which didn’t disappoint!
I’m looking forward to hearing how it was for everyone else, too!

I can't imagine how amazing that must have been. My experience was far less epic - sitting in bed at 5am watching the live stream back here in NZ - but I still experienced an overwhelming sense of community knowing that I was watching that trailer simultaneously with so many fans around the world.Harvey Mushman wrote:But it was the teaser that took it to the next level.
Truly, I can’t explain what it’s like to sit with almost 10,000 people, who are just as excited as you, and watch that teaser on the big screen before the rest of the world.
I wept.
Tears were shed this end, also.

Can you imagine what it's going to be like at the first screening?
EPIC!

(With that, it’s 90 per cent certain that I’ll be seeing this at the Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles – on opening night, no less!)

Also, this was just posted by StarWars.com, which has that wonderful piece from Mark Hamill... hearing that live made me tear up, too, ‘cause it’s no secret that I’ve always said the same about him (and the rest of my Star Wars family).

Having been in line all night, partied with my new co-pilot – on the tail end of long-haul flight from New Zealand, too – and had such a high seeing the teaser on the big screen with almost 10,000 people, you could say that the rest of Thursday was a write-off for me.
Friday was a different story, though!
The highlight for Friday was definitely the Carrie Fisher panel, which we lucked into, ‘cause, just like all the big panels, it was at capacity.
Carrie is hysterical, cracking some pretty gnarly jokes that even I’d think twice about, but nobody was ready for the moment when she jumped some dork who asked for a photo – but, really, who still asks that? – and James Arnold Taylor.

We’d had a few beers, in honour of our princess, so it made for great times.
That night, there was a big party, but I ended up in a bar. To be honest, from there, I don’t remember too much…
