Confirmed - 7am US Pacific time tonight/tomorrow morning, hotel booking blocks will be released alongside tickets for the event going live as well. That's 2am this evening/tomorrow morning. Ouch.

Yup, strange to see the hotel bookings go up so early (not often you see bookings possible more than a year in advance for hotels), but bookings most definitely are there (we've received confirmation for our dates at the Marriott hotel).Reverend Strone wrote:Confirmed - 7am US Pacific time tonight/tomorrow morning, hotel booking blocks will be released alongside tickets for the event going live as well. It definitely looks like it is worth getting hotel bookings secured...the cheaper/cheapest hotels offered are already booked out, and the bigger one are starting to have blacked out dates (ie, can't guarantee dates on either side of the event/weekend).

For anyone thinking of going, I would recommend booking a room now - no deposit required, and can be cancelled up to quite close to the event without penalty. Good to grab one now, having a hotel room close to the convention makes a big difference if you like costuming or shopping
Glad to have secured ours, at the hotel we were hoping for

We're booked at the Hilton, right across the street.
The rates seem to be a little higher than are advertised for, say, April 2014, but I imagine closer to the date I might be able to explore other options. For now, it's great to know we have a place secured and can begin planning and budgeting in earnest.
It's awesome to see such a solid kiwi contingent looking at attending.

It is weird to think that it will be a decade since the last Star Wars flick, and any real reason to be excited 'bout the franchise, by the time this rolls 'round... seriously, where has the time gone?
