Even thought they are stylised, I quite like seeing the row of classic stormtroopers in the villain reveal publicity picture.

Just noticed that the stormtrooper in the Rebels packaging art has a prototypical Rebel Bird splashed over its left eye (image right). It would be interesting to see stormtroopers rebel.

Star Wars fans - I have some exciting news! We have wrapped production on all of the remaining Star Wars: The Clone Wars episodes, and while that might be sad news in one way, it's good news in another. It means you will finally get to see them. When, exactly, is a detail I cannot yet share. I can confirm that in early 2014 you will be watching the final episodes of The Clone Wars, including one of Master Yoda's most challenging missions. So, get ready. We've got Clone Wars and Rebels coming at you in 2014. Animated Star Wars is alive and well. Trust in the Force my friends.

It was interesting and heartening to hear (in the vid) that Filoni is working with many Clone Wars alumni, including Killian Plunkett, on Rebels.

And yes, cool to hear that they've put more time in to finishing off the Clone Wars material.

I might be wrong, but I'm beginning to see this entire transition as less of a "killing-off" of The Clone Wars, and more of a conscious move for the same team to tell new stories in a different era (particularly an era that might have stronger character-ties to the upcoming films). I'm far more amenable to that. The Clone Wars couldn't go on forever, and we may even find that - in the long run - this move is best for all concerned. We never saw The Clone Wars go stale and, with the final episodes airing next year, we'll hopefully see it given a satisfying conclusion.

The early version of the TIEs, apparently, are going to have the "wing" panel proportions of the old Kenner 3.75" scale vehicles....
