I then added Oxygen Mask Strap Mounts to each side of the helmet and then added a large piece of plastic to the the top of the faceplate. This is to fill in the spacious area the widening of the Mohawk has created. And, as you can see, it's a pretty big gap that you would otherwise look into.
I also cut a wedge piece of styrene out of the jowl area on each side, so that the front edges of the helmet would mate up better.

Wow that is amazing work.
If I did not see the build process I wouldn't have appreciate this as much.
Good job!

Thanks, guys. This is what I love doing. If it helps someone out there, then I guess all of these threads are worth while.

The face-plate and helmet are only held together by 4 machine screws. After building up the opening on either internal side of the front of the Mohawk, I cut out the tapered detail for the top of the Mohawk from thick black styrene sheet and glued it on.
I then made the front divider from 9mm MDF shaped it, and sealed it with superglue, before installing.

very nice Nick. Hey just a thought are you going to widen the eye holes anymore? they look a little closed in

I'm not sure. I hadn't thought about it. Do you know how much they would need to be widened?

Re: Another Tie Pilot Costume
It would probably be best to just take off a bit at a time and see how it looks.
you can always take more off if you need to but it's more difficult to put it back on.
My eyes for my AT AT helmet are cut flush with the return into the eye, nothing showing level with where the lens would be sitting.
Hope that helps a little, I'll try to dig mine out and take a pic of it for you.
You might be able to see it on my model scaled version of the Tie helmet as well, I'll post that pic as well.
