It can be hard to spot fake/repro weapons, and the rules for doing so do seem to have exceptions.
One website I find particularly useful as a reference dedicated to vintage weapons, that is useful and on-topic, is

Just spotted this imitation on Trade me
Fake Revoltech Star Wars on
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... =888808056
The Genuine product has black background on the display box.
Feedback Online on Imitations:
" Item arrived in three weeks , really good time. I know that is not the original product but to open the box , the figure lost arms , the joints are very weak and the quality is not good . One of the weapons had been broken. The original figure is 10 euros more , so I think this is not worth it ."

Okay, that's a new one to be aware of.

Do you have a picture of the two types of vader? i recently got one and the joints are such a pain, i only paid $30 with free shipping and the seller refunded the entire cost but i'm curious if i should try to get a real version. (If this isn't one)
There is no background in the box like the stormtrooper so i imagine mine is a knock off as well

would be nice to know for sure though.
I had major problems with it, head falls off like crazy broken joints still pretty pose-able though so i'm going to glue the major issues one i decide on its one time pose.

Here you go, same issue packaging and quality.
I am glad you got a full refund on this.

Yeah its def the fake i got which explains why i couldn't find any head problems with the revoltech one, but oh well.
Yeah I brought from a trusted ebay seller he does a great job at any problems i have.
He can still be posed pretty well but yeah the joints are much looser than you'd like if i had the choice again and a small cost difference i know what i'd buy.
