I might have to open up my Troop Transporter and fix it now ... when I get time (i.e. Christmas 2050).
We used to have a couple of those little handheld LCD games which were put away with the batteries still in them. Years later when I got them out they had both leaked. One was still okay after cleaning the metal contacts, but the other had destroyed the contacts and was begining to eat the plastic casing and circuit board, so had to be thrown away.
The disassembly was easy, and the only mildly interesting steps in re-assembling was the fact that some components 'stack' and are precarious until all the screws are all back in place, and the last thing you need to do is flick the rubber band off the peg that can be used to stretch and position it, on to the motor spindle...that step needs to be done while holding everything in place and with just a small gap to do it through.
Also, because it's loosely relevant, I'll just throw this pic back up...the Rebels series version of the Trooper Transporter. I'm looking forward to seeing it in action.

I've got mostly vintage stuff (proper vintage, not the new vintage-style) - due to the expense and storage space I stopped buying the Hasbro 3 3/4" stuff somewhere about Episode II's release. A lot of it was sent by my Grandmother in England when I was a kid, including that Troop Transporter. I haven't got everything though (for example, I didn't want the "monsters" when I was little and the large vehicles were and still are expensive).
