Besides "The Phantom Menace" [in 3D] Darth Maul will also be back this spring in Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Maul was believed killed by Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi at the end of Episode I." In the "Star Wars" universe, however, one must never underestimate the power of the dark side!

I have mixed feelings about this. It'll be great to get some more development of Maul's character, I just hope they do it in a plausible way.

Me too. I assume, with Sideshow recently doing a figure based on the design, that they will run with the Dark Horse 'Visionaries: Old Wounds' version of the backstory - even though it was originally an 'Alternate Universe' type of story, is seems to have been well received and it wouldn't make much sense to invent another explanation.Archon Revuge wrote:I have mixed feelings about this. There are only one or two ways they can bring back the character (excluding silly "soap opera" style ones), but probably the most sensible would simply to be in flashbacks to an earlier timeframe.
I haven't seen most of the episode, but I think I saw part of one episode where there was another of the same species (Maul's brother?), so it could well be connected to that in some way.

That's right - Savage Oppress. Last we saw of him he was venturing into the Outer Rim to be taught by Maul. I'm guessing this means we could have 'Maul' return in Holocron-form. A Visionaries-style return would be pretty cool though.Buzz Bumble wrote:There are only one or two ways they can bring back the character (excluding silly "soap opera" style ones), but probably the most sensible would simply to be in flashbacks to an earlier timeframe.

Some great info over here http://www.usatoday.com/life/comics/sto ... 50736578/1
Im glad theyre bringing him back, it doesnt really matter HOW since Clone Wars is retconning everything anyway so Im just gonna enjoy the ride. As questionable as George Lucas's previous decisions may have been, he's one of the smartest businessmen and bringing back the most popular character from a movie hes about to release in 3d and tie in with the new packaging isnt a coincidence.
Seriously though, Im just happy there is new Star Wars to enjoy:)
