ComingSoon.net (via TheForce.net) has some Flash video clips of the changes (you can watch the clips at that link) ...
George Lucas' Changes for the Star Wars Saga Blu-rays

George Lucas and Lucasfilm have made more changes to the "Star Wars" films for the September 16 release of "Star Wars: The Complete Saga" on Blu-ray and there's been an uproar on the internet about the additional tinkering as soon as word leaked out. Thanks to TheForce.net, we now have a list of the changes that were made with the last one, Darth Vader's "No!...Noooo!", probably being the most controversial.

First up, in Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace, the puppet Yoda has been replaced with CGI.

{Flash video}

In Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, Ben Kenobi's Krayt Dragon call audio has been replaced. You can watch the updated clip below:

{Flash video}

Also in "A New Hope," R2-D2 now hides behind rocks that disappear as soon as the Jawas zap him. You can view comparison photos here:

The next four videos are all from Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi. In the first, a Dug is added to Jabba's Palace.

{Flash video}

Next up, Jabba's door is enhanced to look much larger.

{Flash video}

The Ewoks now have eyes that blink.

{Flash video}

And Darth Vader's "No!...Noooo!" yell as Luke is being electrocuted by the Emperor.

Here's a new deleted scene reveal, from ESB this time.

Isn't incredible that a deleted scene from ESB turns out to have more dramatic integrity than the entire prequel trilogy. :shock:

Imagine that scene in any one of the prequels. It would have been the stand out scene of the film - nothing else comes close, but here it's on the cutting room floor because the rest of the movie was just that good. It really cements what an accomplished filmmaker Irvin Kershner was.

I have to admit, I'm pretty excited about the blu ray box set... I plan to have a 6 movie marathon on the weekend.

Anyone know what the Warehoue price will be? Remember if it is more than JBs price - Warehouse will match the JBs price and take an additional 15% off....

If you're planning to add on all the extras, then you'll need to take a couple of extra days off ... there's 40 hours of "special features" and 90 minutes of spoofs, as well as the movies themselves. :)

I haven't heard of any events planned for tomorrow's release here in New Zealand, but according to today's junk emails there is an event in Australia ...
It's here: Star Wars: The Complete Saga finally arrives on Blu-ray
It's been a while coming, but George Lucas's seminal sci-fi films (and the other three) are now out on Blu-ray with the long-awaited release of Star Wars: The Complete Saga. If you're a Sydney-based fan, make sure to attend the official Australian launch, which kicks off tomorrow at 6am.

STAR WARS: THE COMPLETE SAGA ON BLU-RAY OUT TOMORROW
Want to see what Jabba the Hutt looks like in full HD? Now's your chance ...
- Read the full news story at PC&TechAuthority.com.au.

If you hurry, you might still get a flight to Sydney and arrive in time to join in. ;)

I'm still waiting for Mighty Ape to let me know my books are shipping - they were meant to ship yesterday. :(
