Here's a image of the photoshopped Bantha head.
I like how it's flush against the wall with no neck, so that's what I'm aiming for, which should make it easier to make being neckless

Re: Bantha wall mount
After getting fully absorbed into the ultimate paper mache site (thanks Blaxmyth) I've decided it looks like a really fun way to do this build. So I've just started my armature for it (looks like a giant blob of stuffed card at the moment). I'm packing most of the inside with polysteren (cutting it down as I go) and then newspaper. Getting the basic shape first. It's already gotten a bit big so taking a photo of porportions is hard.

Great start. My experience is with armour and costumes, all in the usual human size, so find bigger beast projects impressive!

Re: Bantha wall mount
ok so I might have gone a bit OTT with supporting of the horns but since they are going to be big, better safe then sorry. I inserted cardboard tubing, poking 4 holes in it and threading wire through and then threading those wires through other holes I made in the main structure and then hot glued to be even more OTT. But I can pull/tug on the wire and doesn't seem to affect it.
I've also already taken apart my first atemp of padding mouth area, cutting down part of cardboard and repadding area. I found to get a smoother surface (after trial and era) is folding newspaper into strips, taping into place and then stuffing it with polysterene & paper. Slower process but looks tider.

Re: Bantha wall mount
I found this blue foamy/poly stuff at work yesterday and I tried wrapping and taping around wires to help with my shaping of horns and it seem's to be working nicely and gripping wire really well. This is still just trying things out. The length is really, really long at the moment. Better to cut wire down then to add.

Re: Bantha wall mount
Just popped this up against the wall, ummm it's a bit bigger than planned. Any suggestions as to what I should add to the back for hanging this up? If whatever I use is attached before I add the clay mache, hoping it would give it extra hold?
