The force awakens pre ticket sales

Post by badges2nz »

I was just wanting to know if anyone has heard of any pre ticket sales or special screenings, red carpet type events going to be held here for TFA?

I've not seen any official announcement yet, though Embassy Wellington commented on their Facebook page that they'd post details as soon as things were confirmed.

Once we're into October, I'll hit up a few of the theatres down here to see if I can get some better information.

I know the Roxy Cinema in Miramar's crew is talking about hosting some events and festivities in the week leading up to the film, but no details have been announced yet.

^ These represent my understanding too. Many theatres will have midnight screenings, and some have plans in development, but no solid information is out for any just yet.

Slightly OT, some theaters in the US are advertising an (almost) unlimited viewing ticket for the new James Bond movie, SPECTRE. I plan on seeing The Force Awakens a number of times (depending on how good it is :woot: /  ), and think this would be a cool idea for NZ cinemas.

^ That concept would get a warm reception from yours truly, and many others I assume...and I'd totally come out on top in terms of cost-per-viewing!

Interesting idea. NZ$100 for a movie ticket would mean you could go see it 5 or 6 times and get your money's worth.
To be honest I doubt I'd see it more than twice :)

That is quite good, especially if the tickets were like the ones advertised.
A one off personal collectible would be quite good for keep sakeness of the original release.
I'll buy that for a $100.00 :)

Indeed! I was tempted to come over and introduce myself at the Force Friday event - but I figured it'd be a little hard to have a proper conversation through that helmet :D
