A warning to all you 3 3/4 inch figure buyers.
I was in St Lukes Farmers the other day (hunting for ROTJ vintage figs) and found 2 figures on the pegs that I'm guessing had been purchased, removed from the packs, and then replaced with older figures and returned for a credit!!!
Quite skillfully I might add. Apart from the different figure it was quite hard to tell until I looked really closely at the packaging.
I can only guess that this scam is being performed by a collector.
.............I really hope this wasn't the work of anyone here.

What, here in NZ?! I naively hoped kiwis would be above such tricks.Bazzack wrote:A warning to all you 3 3/4 inch figure buyers.

Scalpers disappoint me enough, but this is a bizarre amount of work to just screw things up for fellow collectors and rip the stores off for what amounts to a few bucks.

Man, that stuff really makes my blood boil. Good thing you spotted it, but I'll bet the store staff didn't really care.

I too thought we Kiwis were above this and this type of thing only happened in the states. Somethings I just grab a figure by looking at the card knowing it is the one I am after but with this report I will have to start taking a better look before I buy.

To paraphrase Obi-Wan Kenobi ...
Planet Earth: You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. We must be cautious.

What a bizarre thing to do. You know, it's kinda like The Thomas Crown Affair, except the perpetrator would be wearing a Star Wars tee and shorts, instead of a bespoke suit and Persol sunglasses... they'd smell of Tamiya glue, as well.

I think I saw a Bespin Fatigue Luke that was also like that (also in St Lukes Farmers). It had yellow hair.

Man it's disappointing to see that happening in NZ. Thanks for the heads-up Bazzack.
