A group of developers have done a pretty reasonable job of creating a mod with updated graphics for the 1993 X-Wing flight simulator game. Engine, gameplay, music all remain identical to the original.

It's fantastic! But seems to be at an early stage - I was about to buy the original on Steam and download the mod!
