Birthday Party Request

Post by zoerana »

Hi Matt, I have a soon to be six year old boy who is absolutely obsessed with Star Wars and I am planning a Star Wars birthday party for the 2nd of October 1-3pm (but I can change this time or date to suit if necessary). We are having 16 boys and girls who are each bringing their lightsabers and I am trying to plan some sort of jedi training for them to do. I wondered whether any of your costumers would be at all interested in making an appearance at the party? I know these kids would absolutely believe you were the real deal because they are all 5 or 6 (at that age they don't realise it's a costume) and they play Star Wars every playtime, lunchtime and after school. Darth Maul seems to be the current fav amoung the boys but any character would be amazing and if there was someone who could demonstrate some of the jedi moves especially lightsaber moves they would be over the moon. I would be very happy to pay something for the time and effort involved, I am sort of hoping that the costumers love people to see them in costume. I think the large remote controlled R2d2 is absolutely amazing (I went to the you tube clip and saw it in Auckland) I wonder if there is any chance at all that he would make an appearance at the party the kids would be so excited it would be something they would never forget. I will have to take my little boy to Armaggedon he will be so thrilled to see all the people in Star Wars costumes. This site is amazing. All the best, Zoe

Hi Zoe, I'm guessing that the R2 you referred to is my little buddy.

Unfortunately he's busy that day at 'Underpants On The Outside' swap meet.
And after that I don't think I'll have anytime to take him out before Armageddon.

Sounds like the party will be a blast though! Nothing like a whole heap of younglings with lightsabers. :woot:

Barry

p.s. Have you tried contacting the Outpost 42 crew? They specialise in Star Wars costuming.

Hi Zoe :) Unfortunately quite a few SWNZ members will be at a collectible swap meet that day, but you should contact the 501st & Rebel Legion members - http://nz501st.com/forum/. You'll find heaps of Star Wars costumers there, and hopefully there are a few members that might be available :)

Thank you both for responding to me so quickly, I will try the 501 group and the Outpost group thanks for the link to them as I couldn't find a current address for them on the internet. I think we may have to bring the birthday boy to the underpants on the outside meet in the morning as a big birthday treat as he would just love to see R2D2 and if he saw some people in SW costumes he would be so excited, he is now planning his costume so that he can attend as a character too (I think I may have started something) and of course we'll hopefully see you all at Armageddon. All the best, Zoe

Anaria your costumes are superb so beautiful, so inspiring and I love that you dress your little girl for events too, you must have a lot of fun as a family doing this together.

The Underpants on the Outside swap meet will definitely be worth going to by the sound of it.

Even if nothing else comes up, make yourself known to us at the SWNZ stand at Armageddon (what's your son's name?), and we should be able to help arrange some sort of interesting/exclusive photo(s). The 501st & Rebel Legion will be in attendance (at Armageddon) too, so will also be able to help with meeting and getting photographed with characters.

If your son is interested in SW costumes, there is an online club that's free for kids to join - http://galactic-academy.com/.

Thank you :) Juliet loves SW/costumes too, it's fun having a hobby that we all enjoy :)
