My friend, Kiyomi, took this photograph in 1978.

Yeah, you could say it's just another image of toys being played with on a doorstep, which was the location for so many playing with their heroes. But, look closer, 'cause there is a lot more going on than you might realise.

I mean, look at the storytelling going on in this photo:

Leia is giving the plans to Artoo and...

*spoilers*

...there is a scene playing out from the climax of Empire!

"You are beaten. It is useless to resist. Don't let yourself be destroyed as Obi-Wan did."

You honestly made me tear up with that last paragraph. Thank you for taking the time to share such a personal story.

While unpacking some boxes, I came across this gem, bought during the "Dark Times"...

I absolutely love going back through magazines and newspapers from that era - especially those filled with speculation...

Thank you for sharing such a wonderful memory.

I too got chills when Luke turned to the camera to see Rey holding out his fathers Saber before, imploring him to help her find her place or direction.
I have certainly felt like that more often then not, actually as I think about I wonder if I haven't spent most of my life waiting for the kindly old Wizard or Jedi to set me on my path.
I couldn't even begin to guess how many times I imagined myself racing down the Death Stars Trench in a desperate bid to save the day.

My earliest memory of Star Wars is actually also my earliest memory. I was sitting on the living room floor having just started school with a friend when I leapt up to put A New Hope on only to be yelled at by my Mother when Darth Vader first swept onto the screen like the ultimate badass that he is to turn it off as it might be to scary for the friend.

I also think that when you get right down to the nitty gritty of it Star Wars has a great message, unsurprisingly this wisdom comes from Master Yoda when he talks about how everything is connected through the Force (sorry if I just hijacked your brain and it is now replaying that scene out for you in your minds eye). Just like in Avatar the Last Airbender show when they talk about how everything is connected, we all are, to each other, to the planet we all live on, everything is connected. I don't know about you but I think that is a beautiful sentiment.

May the Force be with you.
