Re: SWTOR bountyhunter armor build
Yes I have a lot to learn yet Matt
And thanx taragon.
Im awake again...good old insomnia..but since im up Ive been putting this time to some good use.
I have decided to flag the whole cardboard and resin idea after watching some great vids on youtube and the rpf (http://www.therpf.com/).
I am going to use what ive made as templates tho and il instead be using eva foam flooring mat.
Il be picking up the foam floor mats and some cheapy 2 dollar store bags for the clips and belts tomorrow along with the General Grevous blaster I just brought from trade me.
I figured the more time I can save on sanding and bogging the more time i can instead spend on the design details and hopefully finish. Plus itl allow me to sink more of that time into my helmet.
Anyway Il be running around picking this stuff up later on and then il start to post some pics.
oooh and before I go heres the video that really changed my mind on the armor base material.
That stuff looks like so much fun to work with I almost ordered one of the 9meter packs off trade me!!! hahaha....Mitre 10 have the exact packs this guys uses tho.

Re: SWTOR bountyhunter armor build
Got my Hasbro General grevous blaster today and promptly ripped her apart. It has a great sounding board Im rather pleased with it. It is going to be a Chiss Charric blaster pistol.
As you can see I stripped most of the details off and removed the standard battyery box for the AAA's im replacing that with the 3xAA rechargeables. Havent finished taking stuff off the frame yet tho..hehe lots more stuff for that to come.
Oh and I cut out my front and rear base plates for the chest.
and heres what the cardboard armor was looking like.

Heyas Ive been working away on my armor and blaster.
Heres a few update shots.
Still got the leg armor to make yet and velcro and straps and things to hold things in the correct positions but its getting there.
The blaster needs more sanding and painting and itl be done

Made the basic leg armor parts and got them ready for more detailing and a paint job. Also added pouches and straps to my belt.

Re: SWTOR bountyhunter armor build
And here 's the progress for you
The helmet has just had its first coat of filling primer (decided I wasnt going to sand the crap out of it as the resin is on the outside as a coating rather than being made of it) its hard as hell and looks great in photos..I kinda like the the textured effect anyway..matches the gun.
I also sprayed my belts black and brought me some swiss army alpine gators for the boots. Its going to look like a really well finished suit I hope
I need to make some mando style stencils and practise applying it. Im thinking a mando skull on one side and imperial on the other? Not sure on that stuff yet. Also thought maybe one Mando insignia and one Exchange symbol for my swtor guild.
