Box molds will be the easiest option for me at the moment but it's trying to keep the amount of wasted space down so as not to go crazy on the casting rubber.
I like the method you have used for some of your rifle builds in the past, that's what I'm especially interested in when I do come for a visit to see how you have make the supports etc for them.
Cool! sounds good! Nice one with the 'special brew' they can take a bit more time to mix but you can get some really good results.

I agree you've got to be frugal on the silicone when you self-funding. A rule of thumb I use is roughly 10mm of rubber all the way around the edge of the master. Depending on how tall your boxes are you may want to go wider. Also the thinner the silicone gets the less resilience it has so it's definitely a balancing act if you want to run the mold more than a few times.

I hope to make a few copies of this for those who are interested, if you like we can transfer this discussion over to my thread for the EL-16 so that I'm not hijacking your thread here

yep sure that's a good idea. Mind you pretty much all of my threads derail at some point, mainly my own doing :)

necrothread!

I have finally gotten back to this project after a long break. I've painted up the jetpack and kept it clean at this stage.

I've just got to make some adjustments to the helmet then I will have a third try and building it up stay tuned!

couple more crappy workshop pics of the final helmet. This guy will see his debut at AKL Armageddon end of next week. Think I've got all the bits done :?

Anyway it's been a fun build glad to have finished it now I've got room for something else!
