FS Cambrian plastics sphere plus decals

Post by badges2nz »

Hey guys and girls, i have a full sphere in two halves in white from Cambrian plastics that needs a new home.
I don't have the room to keep it any longer and thought I'd try here first before putting it on trade me.
I have a set of BB8 decals to go with it mostly, they are missing the little round sensor holes which would be easy enough to replicate.
The two halves of the sphere cost me $240.00 from Cambrian plastics.
The decals set me back $100.00usd plus shipping.
I would probably look at selling the whole lot for $300.00 if anyone is interested, postage I'd have to see how much that would be.
I live in Otaki but will be planning a road trip to Auckland in November for the Taylor swift concert for my two girls.

I seem to be having trouble uploading pictures at the moment.

Attachment uploading is working as expected when I test. What's the error you are seeing, and what is the image file size (there is an upper limit)? Cheers.

Hey Matt, sorry, it was obviously late in the evening, or early in the morning.
Plus it's been a while. :)

The sphere just needs a slight bit of trimming to make it perfectly round, would suit either a hampster or axel drive.
Hampster drive is a bit cheaper to put together with off the shelf components and easier to set up.
Axel drives are a bit more complicated but have better movement and control.
The other thing is if you went the way of the hampster drive you wouldn’t be able to have leds in the sphere.
If I put this on trade me I’d probably have to sell it for between $350-390.00 or there abouts.

I have a spare one piece printed dome with snap on lid and skirt attached.
This is the light weight printed dome in pla filament, the attached picture is of the dome with skirt and snap on lid attached.
The dome on its own cost me $50.00usd plus postage, I'd be letting this go for $50.00nzd if bought with the sphere and decals.
Unfortunately I don't have a spare set of antennae for this or the holo projector and main logic eye with lens, you will need to get these either printed or print them yourself.
The skirt is glued and wired onto the dome for static use of could be modified for use with a working unit.
As per the club rules this item is being sold for no profit if not actually at a loss on the purchase as I don't have the room and need to declutter my work space.
So total price not including postage etc will be $350.00, that's probably the best I can do on this to clear it out.
If I move this to trade me I'll have to put the price up to allow for their fees etc.
